Snickerdoodles
Ingredients :
- 1 Cup soft shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups of flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions :
Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt together, then add shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix thoroughly.
Chill dough. Roll into balls about the size of a walnut. Then roll in a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. (substitute nutmeg if preferred)
Bake in 400 degree oven on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes.
